Sent messages staying in Smart Send Later Folder

I am having an issue where messages that I scheduled to be sent later are actually being sent, but still appearing in my smart send later folder with the tan banner at the top saying "This message is not yet scheduled to be sent later". It has caused me to double send messages several times so now, I have to go back and double check my sent folder to verify whether or not those messages have gone out. What is happening here?
