Agreed! Mailbutlers pricing model is likely causing users to stay aware of competitor plugins that are priced more competitively. This current pricing model is not building loyalty among users, especially as they continue to remove and restrict features.
Thank you for your feedback. It's much appreciated and we're taking all of your comments in to consideration. To help us really zero in on what's most important to our users, we're launching a survey soon. Keep an eye on your mailbox!
When the 'simplified pricing structure' was introduced in October 2020, I decided to de-install Mailbutler because the $120 per year was just not worth it solely for 'scheduling' of email. It seems I wasn't alone, judging from the feedback: (https://unpacked.mailbutler.io/2020/06/08/why-i-decided-to-s…) I periodically check in to see if a more realistic pricing schedule has been introduced. I and some others proposed $1-2 per month for scheduling to be added to 'Essentials'. Sadly, Mailbutler pricing remains unchanged, which is a shame, as I am sure many more people would subscribe if the pricing was more realistic.... As I pointed out to customer support, an Office 365 for 5 users is cheaper than Mailbutler...
I also agree with this request. For my personal email account I would like to have tracking (in some of the mails) and undo send. Scheduled send would also be nice option to have from time to time. The rest of the features you offer are absolutely unnecessary in my user case scenario and there is no way I am paying almost €100/year for these. With some more logical pricing you could gather many users who are now forced away from your service (and the Mail app of course)
From my point of view the plans content is quite illogical. E.g why tracking details feature is only available on Business plan which is focussed on team work? Or the tracking, your core feature as I see it, isn't available on Essential - what is the point of using your app then? And the pricing. The competing services like Newton offers almost similar functionality PLUS the standalone native mail apps for all platforms for almost as twice cheaper ($50 a year). How do you stand the competition? The suggestion: 1. review plans content according to people's real needs 2. change the pricing, it is too high from any side. The only reason I've started to use your app - I'd looked for ways to get tracking right in Apple Mail (I dislike Gmail). Other features are useful but not so important to force me to pay almost 100USD a year for the feature provided dozens of suppliers for free for Gmail
I think that this is a suggestion worthy of merit and further thought
I second this. I don't use nearly as many actions and features to justify paying for a Professional level account. If you offered a lower-priced, limited plan that equated to $25 US per year, I'd be much more inclined to continue. At this point, I'm going to uninstall MailButler.
Absolutely. As a single user, the cost of Mailbutler is too expensive
I agree with many others who commented on the blog post and this feature request re: the new plans. As someone who appreciates the Schedule Send, Email Tracking, and Undo Send features, I would consider myself a light user and would not expect to spend much money, if any at all, to keep these features. Gmail has already been offering Schedule Send and Undo Send for free, and Tracking can be offered by a third party for free. My ideal would be to purchase a pack of actions. I would also like the option to set up rules for using the tracking on particular emails/contacts, as I don't necessarily always need them on every email. I'm currently researching other solutions that do these things, as I find them valuable, but not enough to pay $9+ for a plan that has more features than I need. Since I have enjoyed Mailbutler and don't want the hassle of switching, I hope your team can be persuaded to rethink the pricing tiers.
I am in complete agreement with the comment. I have a Professional plan, and having 30 Business actions available to me every month was the perfect amount to help deal with occasional specific email communications, but not something I would need for every message I send, thus not justifying the steep price of the Business plan. Incidentally, during particularly busy periods at work, I might run out of actions towards the end of the month, and that would have been a perfect occasion for me to buy an "action pack" as a one-time purchase to deal with a specific need. I suggested this as an idea when I first started using the service, but it didn't come to fruition – perhaps now is a good time to revisit it. As for the "confusion" issue, presumably customers who go out of their way to specifically make a purchase of a pack of business actions would know what and they are doing and for what purpose.
Agreed. The only feature I really need is email scheduling, even though the tracking feature is nice to have. However, US$89.50/year is too steep for those. Has Mailbutler considered an à la carte option? I'd be happy to pay US$10-$20/year for each service that I actually require. Thank you.
I agree - i will be dropping at the end of my current subscription as my Co will no longer reimburse me
Similarly, I only use it a few times a month to schedule emails out. I just used my 2nd action for August, and don't foresee myself needing to use any more for the rest of the month. October I could see myself using 15 max in a busier month. But only because it is a convenience. I'd rather set a reminder on my phone to send the email, than to pay as much money as Mailbutler is asking for. The max I would be willing to pay monthly would be $2/month. $24 a year is still greater than the $0 I plan on paying otherwise.
Mailbutler is wonderful. But your proposed pricing policy is good for neither customers nor Mailbutler. For customers (like me), it leaves no choice but to stop using you. There is NO WAY I'm going to pay Mailbutler $9/ month +, given what I pay for a host of other cloud services and what it would cost for a one-time license to a bunch of email clients that mimic parts of what Mailbutler offers (and more). Please come to sanity and propose a $1.99 / month (EU 1.69) service that offers 30 actions / month. You are leaving money on the table that you could be making from 'low use' customers like me. Don't force me to delete Mailbutler. Please.
Yes. That is the one and only reason I downloaded and use MB for, too.
