Error: Badge over Apple mail icon (wrong behaviour)
When you unselect in Apple mail "View/Show Mailbutler badge on Dock icon" the badge disappears. But when I restart Mail the badge is back and in above mentioned menu it is unchecked (so the badge should not be shown). So you have to check the item in menu and then uncheck it and the badge disappears. Next time the same behaviour.
