Create automatic followup nudges like Gmail

While it's currently possible to manually flag an email for followup, could you add automatic followup like Gmail does with its "nudges"? Ideally there would be a preference setting for how long to go before nudging. Also, Mailbutler would be smart enough to not nudge me about random mass announcements but maybe only nudge about emails sent directly to me or emails with the word "deadline" in them or emails from people I designate as my boss.
