Automated Action on Email Links for Case Management

Automatically detect emails from court systems (like CM/ECF), extract the “Document Number” link, and trigger a download when a new email arrives—ideal for legal professionals needing automation on macOS. Full explanation: "The court sends me documents via email that have been filed in court. In relevant part, the email has this information: Notice of Electronic Filing The following transaction was received from Admin entered on 05/16/2025 at 00:27 AM EDT and filed on 05/15/2025 Case Name: John Doe Case Number: 22-10883 Document Number: 106 Docket Text: BNC Certificate of Mailing - PDF Document. (Re: [105] Order In the actual email, the “Case Number” and “Document Number” have html links imbedded. For the Case Number, the link opens a web browser where you can sign in and obtain a copy of the official docket for that case. The Document number link opens a web browser and automatically downloads one free copy of the document. What I want to do is make a script, perhaps with Mail Butler, that will monitor the email mailbox for court mails and activate the Document Number link to download the document - automatically - when a new CM/ECF email comes in. I do bankruptcy, but there’s no Mac software for doing bankruptcy forms so I have to use a Windows computer for this purpose. Every Windows bankruptcy forms program I have seen has this function as a matter of course. I cannot believe there’s no way to do the same thing on a Mac, which is why I’m looking at scripting and Mail Butler."
